Community Employment Resource Map
There are many community employment opportunities in Franklin County for individuals with developmental disabilities. These include: retail, clerical, computer/circuit board installation, hospitality, janitorial, logistics, and food service. The placements are individualized to meet the needs and interests of each person.
The Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Franklin DD) is an active participant in supporting Employment First and is currently working to develop specific policies and procedures related to the Employment First initiative. They utilize the Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities Employment First Partnership to expand employment services for people with developmental disabilities. Franklin DD has a staff person dedicated to benefits counseling, helping individuals make an informed choice about community employment.
There are four Bridges to Transitions Coordinators serving over 300 youth in Franklin County. This collaboration expands transition services in Franklin County, strengthening relationships with local school districts.
