Over the past decade, more than 87 individuals have received community based services. Ashtabula DD also supports community employment by providing transportation services for individuals.
One individual has been working 20 hours a week at a local Subway restaurant for more than 10 years. He worked in a facility-based setting after high school, but through the support of his family, he was able to obtain community employment. His family is now extremely proud of his job and he has grown immensely.
Ashtabula DD has been able to build awareness in the community and the individuals they serve are seen as valuable employees. They have strong, trusting relationships with employers and open communication to find the best matches for both the employer and the employee.
