Community Employment Resource Map
Williams County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Williams DD) adopted an Employment First policy in June 2014 that promotes community employment. Employment opportunities in Williams County include: janitorial, food service, and manufacturing.
Transition programs are an important aspect of community employment services, and Williams DD fosters relationships with local schools to develop a clear transition plan from school to work.
Williams DD is developing several relationships in the community with organizations like the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, and Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities. They have a strong partnership with the Williams County Economic Development Corporation, building awareness and networking with local businesses, both large and small. Also, as members of the Good Life Network Community Project, they have opened communication with various players involved in providing services for individuals with developmental disabilities. Creating opportunities for communication with potential employers and the positive response from the community has been extremely influential for integrated employment outcomes in Williams County.
