Community Employment Resource Map
Individuals with developmental disabilities in Marion County hold diverse employment positions in the community. Some of these areas include industrial, retail, small business, gardening and landscape, janitorial, healthcare, food service, auto service, maintenance, gardening, and landscape.
The Marion County Board of Developmental Disabilities (MCBDD) has been providing community employment for over 30 years. MCBDD participates in the Employment First Initiative and adopted a local Employment First Policy in 2014.
The Community Employment staff includes a vocational evaluator, job coaches, and job developers.
Services that MCBDD provide include vocational evaluations, community based assessments, career explorations, job development, work adjustments, on-the-job supports, computer trainings, and the summer youth program. MCBDD’s dedicated staff, a supportive board leadership, and an engaged community have been paramount for employment success for individuals with DD.
Many partnerships and collaborations support community services in Marion County. Some of our partners include Ohio Means Jobs, Jobs and Family Services, Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities and other providers in the community to expand opportunities for the individuals we serve.
